Check your paycheck.
Start with the same dates, then compare hours and gross pay.
Match the pay-period dates.
Use the start and end dates on the pay stub—not the deposit date. Keep separate records for each job.
Compare hours first.
Add the shifts inside that date range. Deduct unpaid breaks, but not paid breaks. Check overnight work and any missing or corrected shifts.
Check rates and categories.
Compare ordinary, overtime, and double-time hours separately, using the rates and rules that apply to your job. Check whether a rate changed during the period. Cernori uses rules you enter; it does not decide which employment law applies.
Compare gross pay and extra earnings.
Use the amount before taxes and deductions, not the bank deposit. Check tips, bonuses, and other earnings without counting an extra-pay total and its included items twice.
Review a difference before drawing conclusions.
Recheck dates, shifts, breaks, and rates. Keep the pay stub and your records together. A difference is a reason to ask for an explanation, not proof of unlawful underpayment.
Do it in Cernori.
Open Check Paycheck from Home or Records. Choose the job and dates, enter the pay-stub values, and review the comparison. Your first saved date range remains free to recheck; other ranges require Pro.
